Large and wide satinwood and walnut banded mahogany dining table with self storing leaves. This table offers remarkable value. The table sits on a wide platform pedestal base, which by itself, can be considered a table on its own. The pedestal base has matching inlays, outswept legs with custom forged brass capped feet and the legs are carved with horizontal reeding. These carvings are identical to our King Demure chairs, so you can make a great dining table and chair set with our KD chairs. The table features self storing leaves and one of the two leaves has a callapsable apron which folds down so the leaf stows beneath the table. We show plenty of pictures to illustrate how this works. This folding apron locks into place when it is in use by interlocking into the neighboring apron, a well thought out design. The apron on this table is not a typical apron. The apron or skirt is a panelled satinwood veneered low relief frieze which would coordinate with raised panels in a Colonial space. Another great feature of this table is how easily it opens and closes. It only takes one person to open and close this table and requires no heavy lifting (aside from lifting the leaf) as the table halves glide on tracks similar to a refractory table. One leaf is pegged on the underside and it falls into place at true center by slipping into a drilled hole on the table slide. With this feature, it is easy to find true center when using the table with 1 or 2 leaves. These are very handy features and overall, this table is a show stopper and a great piece of furniture. This table would not only serve as a spectascular dining table, but it would also be a great conference room table as well.
